Position: Central Athlete On-Site Floor Coach
Position Summary
Central Athlete is seeking a dynamic, emotionally intelligent, and technically skilled Floor Coach to join our onsite team in Austin, TX. This role is designed for a passionate coach who is highly coachable, invested in long-term growth, and capable of individualizing client programs based on rigorous assessment and open-minded methodology.
This is a prerequisite role for becoming an On-site Coach at Central Athlete, where employees can assess, program, and coach clients. The Floor Coach must be client-facing, charismatic, and adaptable—able to deliver consistent, high-level service on the floor while learning our systems and expectations. Our ideal candidate has a strong foundation in movement and programming and the relational skills to build trust with prospective clients and fellow staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Coach 9–15 in-person floor hours per week
- Support assessments and client onboarding as directed by the Senior/Head Coach
- Facilitate floor engagement, movement corrections, and training safety
- Maintain professionalism and rapport with all clients and staff
- Learn Central Athlete’s methodology, structure, and values through ongoing mentorship
- Participate in continuing education and safety protocol training
- Facility cleaning and maintenance
What a Typical Week Looks Like
- 80% - Floor hours
- 15% - Your own fitness program
- 5% - Team and organizational meetings
Who We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience coaching clients in strength & conditioning
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with confidence and positivity
- Strong floor presence and interpersonal energy
- Comfortable giving and receiving feedback in a professional setting
- Programming knowledge and ability to speak to principles of progression, adaptation, and specificity
- High ethical standards and emotional maturity
Preferred Qualifications
- OPEX, CSCS, or similar credentials
- DNS, PRI, SFMA, or FRC knowledge or training
- Local network in Austin and ability to contribute to community engagement
- Prior success in client acquisition or client relationship management
- Familiarity with TrueCoach and Google Workspace

Compensation
- $20/hour during Floor Coach phase (typically 2–6 months)
- The opportunity to move into a salaried On-Site Coach role upon evaluation
Relocation
This role is based in Austin, TX. Candidates must be prepared to relocate within 4–6 weeks of accepting an offer.
